CareerSafe Online Safety Training
SkillsUSA’s Alliance with CareerSafe
One young person is killed every five days in work-related accidents. In order to help combat this alarming statistic, SkillsUSA has formed an alliance with CareerSafe, a safety training program. The CareerSafe program offers 10 safety training modules designed to provide high school and college students with the fundamental safety information needed in the workplace.
What is CareerSafe?
The CareerSafe® Online program includes both classroom and Web-based training at little or no cost to students and educators. Reaching beyond the classroom to promote the importance of safety in all situations, the CareerSafe® program benefits everyone:
- School Administrators
CareerSafe for Students
For students, the CareerSafe® online program is the first of its kind. It is an interactive, Y2Y™ (Youth to Youth) program that addresses the high-priority safety training needs of young workers.
Here Is How It Works:
- A student successfully completes the OSHA 10-hour web-based CareerSafe® course.
- The student receives a 10-Hour wallet card from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
- The wallet card demonstrates that the student has the fundamental safety knowledge needed in the workplace.
- Young workers develop a safety mindset and acquire marketable skills for a competitive edge.
The cost of this 10-Hour OSHA training program is $25 per student. To register or learn more about CareerSafe®, visit this website. Payments may be made with a credit card or purchase order. This program qualifies for application of Perkins Funds.
Additionally, for every student that registers for CareerSafe, a $1.50 donation will be made to the SkillsUSA Foundation Foundation.
