Collaboration offers training for SkillsUSA instructors and free access to Autodesk software
Leesburg, Va. — SkillsUSA is proud to welcome
Autodesk Inc. as a national partner. Autodesk is changing how the world is designed and made. Its technology spans architecture, engineering, construction, product design, manufacturing, media and entertainment, empowering innovators everywhere to solve challenges big and small.
Through this collaboration,
SkillsUSA students and advisors will have access to Autodesk’s professional-level software, like
Autodesk Fusion 360, a powerful cloud-based 3D design, engineering and manufacturing tool that combines CAD, CAM, CAE, and PCB design on one platform.
SkillsUSA advisors will also receive access to trainings, delivered both in-person and virtually. Training workshops are taught by Autodesk Learning Partners and include introductions to topics like Fusion 360, CAM and Generative Design.
In addition, Autodesk will be on-site at the 2022 National Leadership & Skills Conference in Atlanta with a booth in the manufacturing area of
SkillsUSA TECHSPO and will be hosting an “Intro to Engineering in a Box” workshop as part of
SkillsUSA University. The session will focus on a start-to-finish workflow that teaches participants how to design, simulate and manufacture a part capable of withstanding real-world use. Instructors will leave with course curriculum to integrate into their classrooms and use with their students.
“After a successful Autodesk presentation last year during
SkillsUSA’s Technical Fridays on Generative Design tools in Autodesk Fusion 360, we are thrilled to expand the offerings that Autodesk provides to our instructors,” said
SkillsUSA Executive Director Chelle Travis. “This type of training keeps our instructors up-to-date with current industry technology which, in turn, helps them graduate students ready for further education or entry into a career.”
Kyra Ward, senior manager, Autodesk Learning Partner Channel at Autodesk said: “Autodesk shares the vision of
SkillsUSA — to produce the most highly skilled workforce in the world. Together we are helping students digitize their skillsets and preparing the next generation of innovators for the Future of Work.”

SkillsUSA’s credentialing process, they can assess how ready potential employees are for the job.
SkillsUSA has members nationwide in high schools, colleges and middle schools, covering over 130 trade, technical and skilled service occupations, and is recognized by the U.S. departments of Education and Labor as integral to career and technical education.
